Return to the Spider-Verse, Part Four


First Aired: September 17th, 2016

Synopsis: Spider-Man and Miles Morales arrive in Miles' universe and immediately see Spider-Woman being chased by the police. They go after her and she reveals that she knows their identities, and that she's Gwen Stacy. The three of them team up to stop some robots that the police throw at them before going into the sewers and making their way to Gwen's hideout. Gwen says that she knew her world's Peter Parker and deduced Miles' identity through investigation. After Miles disappeared she started using technology to imitate spider-powers. In her lair she reveals that she works with her version of Aunt May, who's able to trace a shard of the Siege Perilous to the police station where Gwen's father works. Gwen goes to him in her civilian identity and gains access to the security system, letting Spider-Man and Miles sneak in and get the shard. Moments after they do so Wolf Spider appears, holding Miles' mother hostage. They free her and manage to get his own shards from him, completing the Siege Perilous, then escape alongside Gwen, who has shown up as Spider-Woman.

Synopsis: Alex O'Hirn undergoes a procedure overseen by Otto Octavius, becoming the supervillain Rhino in the process. He heads off to look for Spider-Man. At the Daily Bugle, Peter tries asking Betty Brant to be his date to the Fall Formal once more, and she eventually says that she'll think about it, which he's incredibly excited by. When he mentions it to Aunt May she heads to the Daily Bugle and asks Betty out for coffee. At school, Peter makes a bet with Flash that he'll show up to the formal with a date, but receives a text from Betty saying that she's having coffee with Aunt May. He heads to the Daily Bugle, worried about what the outcome will be, but finds Rhino there, asking for Peter Parker so that he can track down Spider-Man. Peter changes to Spider-Man and starts fighting him, but finds that nothing injures him. He manages to get Rhino to crash through a wall of the Daily Bugle and fall to the ground, but Rhino is predictably unharmed. Spider-Man web swings away, hoping to lead Rhino away from civilians and the police officers that have shown up.

Specialists and Slaves

First Aired: May 31st, 1970

Synopsis: The villain from Swing City, now calling himself the Radiation Specialist, manages to take over a nuclear power plant. Knowing that Spider-Man might stop him, he uses a remote-controlled car to lure Spider-Man out of Manhattan with a recording which makes it seem that a hostage is inside. Once the Specialist has done so, he covers the city with radiation, which apparently makes it so that weak-willed minds can be controlled by him, and which somehow makes Manhattan float into the sky. Spider-Man reaches the car, but finds out how he's been tricked, and swings underneath Manhattan before returning to the city by crawling through a sewer pipe.

To Cage a Spider

First Aired: January 18th, 1969

Synopsis: A bank robbery takes place in which a thief blows up a vault door and escapes with the loot. As his car goes past Spider-Man, Spider-Man attempts to stop him - but his accomplice throws a device at Spider-Man which explodes and knocks him out. Lying unconscious in the street, civilians gather around Spider-Man and want to unmask him, but the police form a perimeter while their friendly captain says that Spider-Man has the right to wear a mask, and can't be forcefully unmasked. Spider-Man is taken away to a prison infirmary to be looked after.
